LUMii Heavy Duty Timer

Ballasts produce high loads, which are beyond the capability of normal household timers. If used with a HID ballast, the contacts inside the timer that open and close the timed circuit will overheat and weld together, breaking the timer and leaving your grow lights permanently on. It has no problem dealing with the inductive loads produced by 600w ballasts. As a result, you save money by not needing a separate contractor. They boast 96 switching operations within a 24 hour period (every 15 min), a robust ‘inline’ case design with socket and timer dust covers and a high quality timer unit. Suitable for timing 1 x 600w HID ballast or up to 6 x 200w CFL bulbs.

Why use a timer

Grow light timers are used to regulate artificial sunlight exposure for indoor plants. You can set it up automatically to turn on and off at certain points during the day and night. Many  grow lights don’t come with timers. It makes sense, therefore, to add a reliable timer if you’re planning to spend money on a grow light setup.
